CONTRACTORS ON COURSE
The Big Project ME Contractors’ Cup 2017 held at Emirates Golf Club was a resounding success

April 5, 2017 saw Big Project Middle East host more than 70 golfers from contracting firms across the region for the latest edition of the Big Project ME Contractors Cup. Held at Emirates Golf Club, the day-long tournament brought together construction executives and professionals from all facets of the industry for an 18-hole round of golf, filled with on-course competitions and chances to network in a relaxed environment.

Targeted at senior executives and decision-makers from the region’s most prominent contractors, this year’s attendees included representatives from ALEC, Arco Contracting, Khansaheb and AESG, among many others.

“As usual, it was such a great event. We really enjoyed it, and had a great time. I’m looking forward to joining in at the next golf event,” said Ahmad Fakhreddine of Arco Contracting.
“As usual a fantastic day, and I’m looking forward to the next event. I met a couple of nice people and new contacts, and for sure that’s the idea. I’m looking forward to the Consultants Cup,” said David Maltman of Menard, while Gary Williams of AESG chimed in: “It was a lovely day and a great crowd, looking forward to the next one already!”

“Absolutely the best day’s golf I have had out here since time began, thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. A well-organised event, great day of catch-up, network and round of golf,” Matthew Neno of OFIS added.

Raz Islam, publishing director of CPI Trade, told Big Project ME that he was delighted with the turnout on the day. He thanked the sponsors and participants for making the event such a huge success.

“A special thank you is due to our sponsors Electric Mirror, Hill International, Intertek, Genavco/Isuzu D-Max, Stretch Ceilings and TrueLux Group. I would also like to thank our competition sponsors – CCS for the Longest Drive, and METSEC for the Nearest to the Pin competition.”

He added that appreciation and thanks were also due to the prize sponsors for the 2017 Contractors Cup – Le Classique Restaurant, Qasr Al Sultan and The Meat Company.

Consultants Cup

A GOOD DAY OUT
Region’s top firms come together at the Emirates Golf Club for the Big Project ME Golf Day.

With the intense heat and humidity of the UAE summer abating, it was time for yet another edition of the Big Project Middle East Golf Day.

Held on October 19, 2016 at the Emirates Golf Club, this year’s event saw a full roster of players, chosen from the region’s top consultants and architectural firms. Facing off against each other in allocated teams based on handicaps, players engaged in a day of intense and friendly, competition.

Additional sponsor competitions added to the sense of enjoyment, with Geberit hosting a putting competition; Stretch Ceilings holding a ‘hit-the- bulls eye’ event; and CCS with their ‘guess the number of tees in a bowl’ contest.

Truelux Group also held a competition for the ‘Straightest Drive’ on Hole 5 of the Faldo Course, while group partner a good day out Region’s top firms come together at the Emirates Golf Club for the Big Project ME Golf Day – Consultants and Architects Cup 2016 Electric Mirror held a ‘Nearest-to- the-pin-in-two’ competition.

Winners received a range of prizes, including overnight stays at the Four Seasons Hotels and vouchers from The Meat Company and Le Classique Restaurant.

Targeted at senior and upper management, this year’s Consultant and Architects Cup saw a number of first-time attendees join in, helping to foster a sense of networking and relationship building over the course of the day.

BUILDERS DAY OUT
Region’s top contractors come together at the Emirates Golf Club for the Big Project ME Golf Day.

The Emirates Golf Club once again hosted the Big Project ME – Contractors Cup, on April 6, 2016.

Now established as one of the most popular golf days in the UAE construction industry, this year’s event had more than 70 participants from across the regional contracting industry, allowing teams the opportunity to network together in a relaxed and fun-filled environment.

Targeted at senior executives, this year’s event included a number of new attendees, including guests from BK Gulf, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Arco General Contracting, among many others.

“This is the golfing date on the Dubai golfing calendar. It’s not to be missed, good golf course, well organised, generous sponsors and an excellent networking opportunity at the 19th hole,” said Robert Harvey of BK Gulf.

“Quite possibly the best corporate golf day I have had! Really enjoyed the course, company and craic. Looking forward to the next one!” added Brendan Carbery of Khansaheb.

Michael Stansfield, commercial director of CPI Construction Division, told Big Project ME that the event was a huge success and he thanked both participants and sponsors for joining the CPI Construction team in making it such a memorable day out.
